Winter is officially in full swing. With colder temperatures and shorter days this time of year, we generally spend more time indoors. We can spend this extra time indoors for relaxation: maybe catch up on some indoor craft projects, work on a jigsaw puzzle, or curl up with a blanket, good book and warm drink. If you are looking for a beverage to fix besides tea or coffee, warm up this winter with golden milk!

In addition to being delicious and sweet, golden milk has various health benefits. It is full of antioxidants, which help protect cells from damage, fight off disease and infections, and contribute to your overall health. Also, the main ingredients in golden milk – turmeric, ginger and cinnamon – have strong anti-inflammatory properties that may reduce inflammation and joint pain, and may also help improve memory and aid in digestion.


Golden Milk Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • ¼ teaspoon ginger

Directions

  1. Heat almond milk in the microwave.
  2. Stir in turmeric, cinnamon and ginger. Drizzle honey on top and enjoy!
