Enjoy a Delicious Heart Healthy Trail Mix

Check out this month’s featured recipe – a trail mix that has just the right amount of sweetness and is low-sodium, making it a perfect heart-healthy snack! 

Serves: 4


  • 1/2 cup unsalted, slivered almonds
  • 3 cups whole-grain, unsweetened cereal (Wheat Chex, Cheerios, shredded wheat or bran flakes, etc.)
  • 1 cup unsalted, dry roasted soy nuts
  • 1 cup unsalted, dry roasted peanuts
  • 1 ½ cup dried fruit (cranberries, raisins, cherries, apricots, etc.)


  1. Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl and store in a sealed container.
